Surgical Root Canal Therapy or Root Canal Surgery

Surgical endodontic therapy involves making a small opening opposite the tip of the root to deal with persistent inflammation or infection associated with a previously treated tooth that has not responded well to non-surgical therapy. A small amount of root tip may also be removed in the process called apicoectomy, and a small filling can be placed in the root tip to seal it. It is a safe and effective procedure that can be performed accurately and quickly in most cases. It is done with local freezing and is painless.
